Professional Experience
Mr. Hinton has been Counsel to the Atlanta law firm of Smith, Gambrell &
Russell, LLP since March 2008. He operated his own independent law office in
Greenville, South Carolina from 2006 until March 2008. From 1993 to 2006, he
was a corporate partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Greenville,
South Carolina. From 1983 to 1993, he was Executive Vice President and General
Counsel of the equipment-leasing division of Integrated Resources, Inc., a financial-services
company in New York City. Previously he was an associate in the law firms of
Lovejoy Wasson & Ashton, New York City, and Burlingham Underwood & Lord/Hassan
Al-Mahassni, New York City and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Education
Mr. Hinton received his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University School
of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
Community
Mr. Hinton is a past Director of American Leprosy Missions, Inc., a worldwide
charity based in Greenville, South Carolina, and is a Director and Corporate Secretary of
an affiliated charity. He was the South Carolina “District Enrollment Director”
for Dartmouth College, in charge of alumni interviewing of applicants in the state.
Previously he served for several years on the Transportation Committee of the
Greenville (SC) Chamber of Commerce.
